AEW RAMPAGE officially retires from television, since All Elite Wrestling has assured a new massive agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery that focuses solely on its star programs, Dynamite and Collision.
Although AEW Rampage had its moments since its debut on August 13, 2021, the decrease in the audience and a strategic change led to the program being eliminated from the programming of Warner Bros. Discovery.
The new agreement, recently announced by AEW, consolidates the presence of Dynamite and Collision in the Warner Bros. Discovery chains. However, AEW Rampage, who has had audience problems, will not be included in this agreement. Trutv and Rampage were remarkably absent from the official announcement, and AEW has confirmed that Rampage will issue its last episode in the late 2024.
Andrew Zarian, of the Podcast Mat Men, reported on the AEW agreement and said: “Aew Rampage will go at the end of the year.” This movement occurs when AEW changes its approach to larger programs and new ventures, with the possible resurgence of AEW Dark and a new program entitled AEW: Shockwave in process for Fox. While Rampage's future is still uncertain, Warner Bros. Discovery has suggested that the program could find a new home in the future, although no specific plans have been made.
Rampage's audience drop played an important role in his cancellation. AEW is now directing its attention to improving the quality of Dynamite and Collision, which is expected to become the focal points of AEW programming under the new agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery.
As AEW advances around 2025 with new programs and opportunities in expansion, fans will say goodbye to Rampage, a program that had its journey but could not follow the rhythm of the company's evolution vision. Despite this, AEW is far from slowing down, with ambitious plans to continue growing its brand.
