David Alonso signed a memorable performance on the Hungary Grand Prix on Sunday and wrote a new chapter in the history of Colombian motorcycling.

The 19 -year -old pilot left eighth on the grill, fell until 11th place in the first round, but never lost calm. With a constant and aggressive rhythm, he took advantage of falls, sanctions and mistakes of his rivals to overcome positions until he puts on the fight for victory.

The definition was served in the last lap, when Alonso advanced to Spanish Manuel González and resisted the pressure in the final meters.

It was a vibrant closure in Balaton Park, with Alonso defending the tip until he saw the flag of paintings and becoming the first Colombian to win a motorcycle2 race.

The Brazilian Diogo Moreira was second and González, third, in a competition that also left several pilots in the first curve, such as Vietti, Binder, Arenas, Oradre and Kunii.

In the general classification, despite giving up the victory, González remains a leader with 204 points, followed by Arón Canet (179) and Moreira (173). }

Alonso, thanks to his triumph, climbed 14 with 68 units in his debut season.

The deed in Hungary not only represents a historical achievement for the country, but confirms the enormous potential of the young pilot, who already knows what it is to register the Colombian flag at the top of the Moto2 podium.
