'A bad start, bad end.' The Spanish proverb is, without a doubt, wise and that maxim can be applied to the situation by which the Ministry of Forest Management and Rural World of Extremadura now crosses, the gift that has been demonstrated 'damn', that the PP of María Guardiola made to Vox to be able to become an autonomous president.
In just two years of legislature, that department that is responsible for, among other matters, bulls, hunting and irrigation, will have a third responsible for Tuesday. The previous one, Ignacio Higuero, resigned on Friday for lying in his curriculum by ensuring that he had a degree that did not even exist and that he achieved in a private university that he still did not even have his approved studies in Spain.
The President Extremadura decided to create this Ministry, which filled her with powers that previously belonged to agriculture and livestock, to take the favor of the extreme right and allow her executive to enter, despite the fact that at all times she assured that she would rule alone for Vox was a macho, racist and homophobic party.
The 'influencer' counselor who couldn't take Vox
After several negatives among agricultural sector leaders, Vox decided that its quota in the Board of Extremadura would occupy it in July 2023 Limia Camino, a livestock and 'rural influencer', which was announced by a video published on YouTube in which it disqualified the then Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón, by the bullfight on the meat from macroganjas. But Limia turned out to be as easy to drive as the Ultra party expected. Two and a half months after her inauguration, the counselor resigned by claiming “personal reasons”, but in her social networks and in interviews she subsequently granted the bad relationship with those of Santiago Abascal, who from Madrid wanted to protect all the steps of Limia and leave it without autonomy, and with the five deputies of the formation in the Assembly of Extremadura.
The vacancy was occupied by Ignacio Higuero, also just arrived at the policy of Vox. Coming from the hunting sector, where he had developed all his professional career, Higuero joined when he was appointed General Director of Forest Management, Hunting and Fishing in July 2023. The 'Vox man' in the government of Extremadura was defined as a “loyal” person, “honest and that is in front”, but three chapters in his short public life can make something else think.

The second chapter occurred just over a year ago when Vox decided to break all the autonomous coalitions with the PP for the disposition that this party then had to host migrants from the Canary Islands. Ignacio Higuero then said that he would comply with “with total loyalty” what Vox decided, but 24 hours later, the same day that the government pact appeared through the air, he appeared in a press conference with Guardiola to announce that he retracted and maintained in office. “My loyalty is, but I have not seen loyalty towards Extremadura,” he said and announced that he would leave Vox.
The third and final episode is related to the wave of false curriculum in Spanish politics. Last Friday it was discovered that Higuero Mintio on his university degree, which has led to his resignation and subsequent cessation as Minister of Forest Management and Rural World. The website of the Board of Extremadura stated that it graduated in Marketing “at the CEU” in 1993, something that is impossible because that private university began to operate that same year and it was not until 1994 when the Government approved its studies and teaching plans. In addition, marketing degree was not approved in Spain until much later. In fact, it was in the 2009-2010 academic year when these university studies started.
The Extremadura president has now had the opportunity to eliminate a counseling that was created Ex Professor For Vox, as several agricultural and environmental associations claim. However, Guardiola has decided to maintain this department, which also manages the extinction of forest fires and appoint, now, a PP counselor.
The Official Gazette of Extremadura has already published the appointment decree of Francisco Ramírez, which is incorporated into the Governing Council since Tuesday. Ramírez was deputy of the PP in two legislatures, between 2011 and 2019. Now he was the general director of the Public Business conglomerate of the Board of Extremadura, GPEX. According to his curriculum, he has a law graduate from the University of Extremadura and has exercised as a lawyer. It is “Specialist in Hunting Law and has been a lawyer for the Extremadura federation,” says the Board.
