The Classic RCN 2025 enters its most decisive phase with the dispute of the sixth stage this Thursday. The platoon will face 168.1 kilometers between Venadillo and Manizaleson a day marked by the return of the High mountain. The imposing High of siphonmore than 4,000 meters highwill be the great judge of the day and, possibly, of the general classification.

After the epic triumph of the young Johan Rubio in Ibagué, where the cyclist of Nu Colombia conquered his first professional victory with just 19 years, the yellow shirt is still held by José Misael Urián (Team Syscrified). The Boyacense leads a general classification that, until now, has not suffered great shocks. But everything can change with the arrival of the Queen stage.

The fraction will leave Venadillo, in Tolima, and then cross Lleida, Armero and Lebanon. From there the true battle will begin with the rise to Murillowhere the road begins to steep without concessions. The key to the day will be the passage through the high of Siphon, a special category port nestled in the heart of the Natural National Park of the Nevados.

Crowning the siphon will not be the end. Once at the summit, cyclists must face a vertiginous descent of 49 kilometers towards Manizales, where the goal will be installed. It is a technical, long and demanding section, which will test both the skill and the value of the runners.

THE HIGH OF THE SOFON: A colossus of 4,149 meters

Cataloged as the highest road in Colombia, the siphon has become a recent legend of national cycling. The climb, which can reach 89 kilometers of extension if it starts from Armero-Guayabal, accumulates more than 4,000 meters of positive unevenness and crosses landscapes ranging from coffee plantations to moors covered with friagons.

There the oxygen is scarce, the climate changes in a matter of meters and the winding road until reaching 4,149 meters of altitude. It is no accident that the new “Puerto Rey” of Colombian cycling is considered: who overcomes it in competition will demonstrate not only strength, but also mental resistance.

The favorites, under examination

With three cyclists on the provisional podium, the system system has handled the race with solvency. Urián, backed by Sebastián Castaño and Wilson Peña, knows that in the high mountain you must respond to rival attacks such as Óscar Sevilla, Diego Camargo (Team Medellín), Yeison Reyes (Paisa Pride) or Rodrigo Contreras (Nu Colombia)both with experience and legs to harden the stage.

The sixth day is not just another stage: it is probably the breakwaters of the classic RCN 2025. The siphon will dictate who are to fight the title and who must resign themselves to waste time. After the party of the packagers and the daring of the leaks, the mountain returns to take prominence.
