The AEW All In 2023 opening event established an assistance record with more than 85,000 distributed tickets. Achieving such a historical milestone facilitated the return to Wembley Stadium in London for this Sunday. But to fill one of the largest enclosures in the world, a first -class star event is needed, and AEW provided it with Swerve Strickland, putting the heavyweight championship into play in a title combat against race. If Danielson loses, he must retire from a 25 -year -old career.
Danielson won the opportunity to face Strickland when he defeated his rival Adam “Hangman” Page in the Owen Hart Tournament final in July. In recent interviews, Danielson has mentioned that his days as a full -time fighter are coming to an end and that his family is ready to hang his boots. But, as the 43 -year -old fighter demonstrated in the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, he is not yet ready to leave.
Strickland captured gold in the Dynasty vision event in April by defeating Samoa Joe, becoming the first African -American heavyweight champion in the history of AEW. In his most recent title defense, Strickland defeated Will Ospreay in one of the best fighting of the year. Now, the 33 -year -old fighter seeks to cement his legacy to possibly withdraw the most prominent fighter of all time.
Also in the show, MJF will defend the American championship against the native of England Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone will put into play his TBS title against Britt Baker and Toni Storm will try to retain the AEW women's championship when he faced his former best friend Mariah May.
