The US sees as an “option” to provide air military support to Ukraine as part of the security guarantees for the Peace Agreement with Russia, as indicated today by the White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt.

Leavitt's statements occur the day after Trump's meeting with the European leaders of the so -called volunteer coalition, in which Zelenski himself also participated.

On the date of the meeting between the Ukrainian leader and the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, that Zelenski said Monday that he expected it to occur in the next two weeks, Leavitt has said that both leaders have now shown their willingness to the meeting, and that Trump has been betting by that bilateral negotiation “from the beginning”.

Although Russian Foreign Minister Serguéi Lavrov also said today that such a meeting would have to prepare “thoroughly”, information from the political medium points out that Putin raised the American in his last meeting that it was the Russian president who proposed to organize it without Trump's participation. “You don't have to come, I want to see it face to face”, Says a source cited by the middle, a high position of the Trump government.

But Putin also suggested that the meeting be held in Moscow itself, according to two sources cited by AFP, who point out that Zelenski rejected such location. Geneva and Budapest are other possible locations for the appointment they have transcended.

The land security guarantees, beyond the potential American external support, go through the deployment of European troops. Both United Kingdom and France were already arranged last spring to send peace troops to Ukraine for a stage after the end of the conflict.

The commitment also entails that Europe finance the acquisition by Ukraine of American weapons worth 90,000 million dollars.
