Valencia Basket and the Dominican exterior Jean Montero have reached an agreement to extend the contract that unites them and improves the economic conditions of the player known as 'The problem', an absolute international with their country.

Montero, who will turn 22 this week, arrived in Valencia last summer after paying the Fonteta club a transfer to Morabanc Andorra with a contract until 2027 and this campaign has been one of the offensive references of Pedro Martínez's team.

In addition to receiving for the third time the 'best young player' award from the ACB, Montero has been included in the best quintet of the competition. In addition, he has received recognition as 'emerging star' from the Eurocup.

In the total of the 2024-25 season, Montero has participated in 56 games with Valencia with an average of 15.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 recoveries for 17.9 valuation.

With the 36 points and 41 valuation points he made in the second quarterfinal match on the Dreamland Gran Canaria track, he beat the record of scoring and assessment of a player 21 years or less in the qualifiers for the title and improved the stops of Jordi Villacampa and Pau Gasol.

After arriving at the ACB by the hand of the Gran Canaria, Montero also passed, assigned, by Betis before he was in the Andorra and pass to Valencia.
