The former WWE main writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Drew McIntyre's fight against Sami Zayn. Russo expressed his dissatisfaction with how the fight was developed.
Both stars met this week at Saturday Night's Main Event. Sami gave everything and, for a moment, seemed to overcome the Scottish warrior. However, Drew recovered strongly and surprised his opponent with a Claymore to take the victory.
While analyzing Saturday's event on the program Russo’s The Brandthe veteran criticized the way WWE managed the fight between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn. Russo said McIntyre was much bigger and stronger, and that Zayn should have annihilated during the match. According to Russo, fans could question why the Scottish warrior was not dominating, which would affect the image of the star.
“I'm sorry, man. A guy who looks like Drew McIntyre cannot allow Sami Zayn to have 50% of the fight. He is not credible. If these two fight in a bar, Drew McIntyre would clean the bar with Sami Zayn. Why do they have a type like McIntyre equalized 50-50 with Sami Zayn? I have no idea. Let me tell me something. Thinking the same thing: 'Who is this guy and why the greatest is not annihilating it?' Drew McIntyre appeared in an interview after the show
WWE presenters, Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg, interviewed McIntyre after Saturday Night's Main Event.
The Scottish warrior said he would not give them any scoop because they were not live. However, Drew mentioned that he fulfilled what he had promised: to defeat Sami Zayn clean and directly in the ring.
After the interview, McIntyre retired abruptly, leaving Jackie and Peter without words.
