Survivor Series: Wargames is an event that is approaching, and much of the PLE billboard is already defined. In a rematch of Summerslam 2024, Gunther will face Damian Priest.
The infamy archer defeated Sheamus, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Dominik Mysterio in a Four-Way Match Four to become the number one contender, ensuring an appointment with the reigning champion Gunter in the Survivor Series event: Wargames for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Despite the new options available for the company, Gunther vs. Damian Priest is a good idea, especially for these four reasons:
#4. Gunther and Damian Priest have pending issues between them
In Summerslam, Damian Priest had Gunther defeated with the South of Heaven Chokeslam before the treacherous Finn Balor hung the foot of the general ring on the rope. After betrayal, Priest was overwhelmed by emotions, which finally cost him the World Heavyweight Championship.
Judgment Day's former member mentioned this fact during his confrontation in RAW. The story would have been radically different if Balor had not been involved. Gunther's victory was not clean, and the Austrian star was vulnerable to Priest.
#3. The dispute would allow Damian Priest to shine like a top -level singles star.
Damian Priest has had a tremendous 2024. There were reservations about making it the world heavyweight champion, but The Punisher exceeded expectations. His work as a character and his promotion skills have improved significantly, and fans have been very interested in him.
However, most of his time has passed in the shadow of The Judgment Day. With Balor and the rest in the rearview mirror, Priest has an excellent opportunity to embark on a different trajectory as a legitimate star.
#2. Gunther needs to recover his “vibes”
Damian Priest can be right. Gunther has not been the dominant threat that was in the peak of his domain in NXT and the main cast. The ring general almost lost to Priest in Summerslam.
Defeating a great favorite of fans in the PLE will give him the impulse he needs so much, he will add credibility to his reign and restore his aura.
#1. Gunther vs. Damian Priest could steal the show in Survivor Series: Wargames
If their Summerslam fight was an indication, Gunther and Damian Priest have incredible chemistry in the ring. Given his blunt style and his incredible athletic capacity, The General Ring and The Punisher can make the best of each.
In addition, the WWE universe firmly supports Priest, since both parties have developed a natural connection. With their imposing skills and behavior, the actions of the Empire leader are always worthy of mention.
Therefore, Gunther vs. Priest II at the Survivor Series event: Wargames could be a competitive, forceful and memorable fight. If the WWE could redouble the efforts in history, the combat could steal the show in the PLE.
