It is the wedding that everyone speaks: the American billionaire Jeff Bezos married this Friday with television presenter Lauren Sánchez, and his lavish wedding in Venice caused a stir.
Activists protested against the event with posters and banners throughout the city that say: “There is no space for Bezos.”
However, the three -day event is held this weekend and the guest list includes dozens of celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey or Leonardo DiCaprio.
While Bezos' name is synonymous with the Amazon Electronic Commerce Empire, a space technology company and an immense fortune, his future wife is perhaps less known, although he is not alien to the public focus.
The beginnings

Sánchez is a third-generation Mexican-American. He was born in New Mexico in 1969 and grew up in California.
In 2017, he declared The Hollywood Reporter that comes from a family of limited resources.
“We came from nowhere. I used to sleep in the back of my grandmother's car when she was going to clean houses,” he said.

Journalistic career

Then he became a known face of American television in the late 90s and obtained an Emmy nomination for his Going Deep program, in Fox Sports Net, and won an Emmy award in 1999 as a presenter of UPN News 13, of the KCOP-TV channel.

Helicopter pilot

At 40, Sánchez went from the writing to the command cabin when obtaining the helicopter pilot license inspired by his father, who was a flight instructor.
In 2016, he founded Black Ops Aviation, becoming the first woman to own an air film producer. The company provides audiovisual services to customers such as Netflix and Amazon, and was a consultant in Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan's movie.
Her interest in aviation led her to join the female crew of the New Shepard rocket of Blue Origin earlier this year, along with the presenter Gayle King and singer Katy Perry.
Sanchez said that the 10 -minute suborbital mission, financed by the aerospace project of his fiance, made her return with an open heart.
“We protect this planet in which we live; it is the only one we have,” he said.
He also published a children's book in 2024, “the fly that flew to space”, which was based on its own children's difficulties with non -diagnosed dyslexia.

Personal life
Sánchez has three children: one born in 2001 of his relationship with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez and two of his marriage to Hollywood Agent Patrick Whitsell.
It is believed that Sanchez met Bezos after his company, Black Ops Aviation, was hired to film for Blue Origin.
Rumors arose that the couple began to leave in early 2019 and Bezos announced their divorce from Mackenzie Scott in January of that year. A few months later, Sanchez also requested Whitsell's divorce.
Both Bezos and Sánchez had been separated from their partners for a while before the divorces were known.
In the summer of 2023, the couple announced their commitment and offered a party full of stars in the Bezos yacht on the Amalfitan coast in Italy.
Now, the couple marries at a three -day wedding in Venice.
