Goldberg is scheduled to appear in his retirement fight in 2025, but the star has confessed that initially WWE broke a promise they had made. There were real problems, and even spoke with Triple H.
The last fight of the former world heavyweight champion in WWE was when he fought against Roman Reigns in February 2022. He lost the fight at that time, had only one month of prior notice and had also passed through Covid.
During her interview with Ariel Helwani, the star said she only had the fight because Vince McMahon, still president of WWE at that time, had promised her adequate retirement fight. However, that promise broke and never took place.
“Vince had promised me another fight because not many people know this, but I accepted the fight with Roman with only one month of prior notice, and I had Covid. That is not the way to say goodbye.”
Goldberg then revealed that he wanted to say goodbye in a certain way and present himself more positively than in the rivalry with Roman Reigns. Now he has revealed that he has spoken with Triple H, and his retirement fight is confirmed by 2025. As for the date, it has not yet been revealed.
“Always, at the bottom of my heart, I wanted to say goodbye and introduce myself in a slightly more positive way than I could. I mean, Paul and I talked and we reached an agreement that in 2025 I would have my retirement fight.”
Triple H has taken control as the creative chief of WWE of Vince McMahon and has spoken with Goldberg
Since he assumed the control of Vince McMahon, Triple H seems to have made his mission as CCO to ensure that the legends receive the proper respect they deserve in WWE.
Legends have often talked about how much the company has been treated, and Goldberg seems to not be an exception.
