The member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Kurt Angle, has had an illustrious career, with an outstanding rookie year that consolidated his status as a wrestling legend. His life is truly a film and that is why documentaries have been made about him, but it seems that he was not really paid for the documentary “Angle” in Peacock.
Angle has not competed in the ring for more than five years, since his last fight was against Baron Corbin in Wrestlemania 35 in 2019 which turned out to be his last fight, and has never competed since then.
While talking in the Julian Dorey podcast Kurt Angle talked about the “Angle” podcast produced by Alex Perry, where Angle explained that he did not receive money from him. He mentioned that Perry sold the documentary to WWE instead of trying other options such as Netflix, which could have helped reach more people.
WWE put the documentary in Peacock, then appeared in A&E and now you can see free on YouTube. Angle was disappointed for not winning anything, although he thinks others, such as Perry and WWE, probably did.
“ Did you know? They contacted me for that (the documentary 'Angle') and was a young Hollywood producer. His name was Alex Perry. I was a big wrestling fan and knew my story, so he told me: 'Listen, I would love to make a documentary about you', and he said: 'We could earn a lot of money' and I thought, okay, I can earn some money. By the way, I did not receive a penny for that, so I did not make money. But the reason is because Wwe bought it. Then, he sold WWE when he should probably have offered it to Netflix or … so WWE got the documentary and issued him in Peacock, who is not worldwide and wanted him to reach everyone because he wanted to help people with addictions.
But, unfortunately, WWE, everything he did with him was to transmit it in Peacock, which is fine, and then they gave it to & e to transmit it and then put it on YouTube. So now, you can see it for free on YouTube and I didn't receive a penny for it, and I know people earned money; WWE, I know that Alex could have earned some money, but I didn't win anything … He (Alex Perry) did a great job (with the documentary). Yeah. “
That said, Kurt Angle also says that Wwe punished him for working in TNA . However, it is a real pity that the member of the WWE Hall of Fame has not won a penny with the documentary “Angle”, since fans felt that he deserved it.
