An important update on the future of The Hardy Boyz has emerged in WWE. Veterans are the current champions in TNA couples and will make an appearance in NXT's tonight edition to face No Quarter Catch Crew.
According to a new report from WrestleVotesthe promotion expects this not the last time we see Matt and Jeff Hardy in WWE. The Libre Insider pointed out that the company has launched new merchandise for the legendary team in pairs, and there are internal rumors that NXT's tonight episode is just the beginning of the return of the duo to the company.
It was also revealed that the company could be planning a rivalry for The Hardy Boyz in the main roster later this year.
“WWE has launched a new Hardy Boyz shirt before his return to Nxt tonight. Internally, there are rumors that this is only the beginning, with optimistic creative sources that the legendary duo will have a program in the main roster at some point this spring/summer,” Wrestlevotes wrote.
Matt and Jeff Hardy spent some time at All Elite Wrestling before signing with TNA Wrestling last year. They captured the championship in TNA couples in Bound for Glory 2024.
Bill Apter reacts to The Hardy Boyz to WWE
The legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently shared his thoughts about the return of Matt and Jeff Hardy to the company.
Speaking in the program Smack TalkApter shared that he was happy to see the legendary team in pairs in NXT. He added that he hoped to see them in the main roster again to help the division of teams in pairs.
“I really got excited the other night when I was watching Nxt when not quarter (Catch) Crew challenged The Hardys to come to Nxt. And I thought, yes, The Hardys have been forever, but they are still an important name in the fight in pairs. And I hope that from NXT, somehow, they will be reinstated to the image of the teams in WWE couples, help to revitalize that division.” (From 1:48 onwards)
