

WWE has been intensifying its global presence, offering important premium events live in countries such as France, Germany, Scotland and Australia during the year. Now, it seems that the company is looking to bring emotion to the south of the border, since Mexico City is being considered for a PLE in 2025.
According to him Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Conversations are already being held to convert to Mexico City, a historic wrestling center, at the headquarters of a future WWE show. The city already attracts wrestling tourism thanks to CMLL weekly shows in the Mexico Arena, which can limit the financial incentives of local governments. However, the potential is undeniable: places like the city sand have proven to be wrestling foci, by houseing the TripleMania events of AAA and the recent WWE tour in July.
Rey Mysterio, an icon of the WWE and legend of Mexican wrestling, has been one of the strongest voices that advocate a great WWE event in Mexico. “Mexican fans deserve something special,” said Mysterio after the successful company event in Julio in Arena Ciudad, where Stephanie Vaquer made her debut in the ring after her outstanding departure from CMLL.
The Arena Ciudad, with its rich wrestling history and capacity for an enthusiastic audience, is considered the perfect place to offer the unique sports entertainment of the WWE to the passionate Mexican crowd. While no agreement has been completed, the possibility has made fans dream of the show that WWE could bring to the country.
WWE visited Mexico last summer
The WWE roster was in Mexico City on July 13 for its summer show in Mexico. Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, the Knight and company offered a night full of action.
Stephanie Vaquer made her official debur when she defeated Isla Dawn, half of the WWE female champions at that time. After the fight, he made a promo in which he said he was living his dream and that he was honored to be part of the WWE family.
On the other hand, Rey Mysterio measured Dominik Mysterio in contest that culminated in disqualification when Carlito intervened in favor of Dom Dom. Immediately, Dragon Lee made his appearance to help King Mysterio. Carlito and Dom tried to escape, but the masking challenged them to a fight in pairs at that same moment which saw Mysterio and Dragon Lee left Airosos.
In the stellar fight of the night, Cody Rhodes beat Mexican Santos Escobar in combat in which Santos used the strap to hit Cody after referee Callera hurt, however Cody later hit PowerBomb on a table followed by Cross Rhodes for victory.
