A WWE legend retired almost a decade after leaving the company. The former women's champion Layla recently predicted that the aforementioned star will compete again in the Royal Rumble.
Aj Lee was one of the main superstars of the WWE for almost four years after its promotion to the main roster in 2011. The 37 -year -old athlete won the Divas Championship three times before leaving the Stamford company in 2015 and retiring from wrestling. Although her husband, CM Punk, returned in 2023, the native of New Jersey did not. Several superstars have been urging her to leave the retirement, including her close friend Bayley.
In an interview in Chairshot SportsLayla predicted that Lee will finally do her return as a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble Women 2025:
“I think that Nostalgia's surprise entry will be Aj Lee. I will bet on it. Because cm punk is having, as you said, a great moment right now, why wouldn't I bring to his wife? (…) I will bet on it, guys. They can tweet after this. It happens, ”he said. (From 55:02 to 56:09)
The veteran added:
“She will return. It will return. It's the right time. If you are going to do it, if there is a moment, it is now the right time to do it. It has all the meaning.” (From 57:15 to 57:25)
Layla hinted to return to WWE after a decade of absence
Like AJ reads, Layla left Stamford's company and withdrew from competition in the ring in 2015. However, he recently revealed that he was open to return to the quadrilateral.
In a recent tweet, the former female champion apparently insinuated to participate in the Women's Rumble 2025:
“I feel fortunate at number 13,” he wrote.
Layla and Aj Lee have shared the ring many times during their stages in WWE. It would be interesting to see if they will face this year in Royal Rumble.
