The WWE CCO, Triple H, supported this athlete and its growth, but someone among the high command decided to let it go. Although the company's decision not to renew his contract hurt him, he thinks it is time to move forward.
Baron Corbin talked about his wwe release during an interview in the podcast Busted Open. He refused to appoint the individual who played a crucial role in his release, but reiterated that the decision came from that unique persona.
Corbin “crushed it” when the company tried by sending it to NXT in 2023. Last year, it was brought back to the main roster, only to be used sporadically before the company finally decided not to renew its contract in November.
“I think there is a person who made this decision or influenced this decision, and I think that is what put me in the position in which I am now. But I will not let a person control my destiny or my future. Karma will return to whoever that person is. I am just saying his name because I don't need that negative energy,” said Baron Corbin. He also gave triple H to have faith in him as an interpreter, pointing out that towards the end, he improved greatly and managed to encourage him.
“Hunter (Triple H) was proud of the work I was doing. He told me several times. I was proud that I would reinvent me. The attitude I bring to the table. So, it is definitely not the guy, 100%. With confidence, I think it is not the guy who did that.” (From 6:48 to 7:06)
Baron Corbin was released at the end of 2024 after a 12 -year permanence in WWE. Now fight under the name in the Bishop Dyer ring.
Kurt Angle was disappointed that Triple H and WWE's creative team did not give Baron Corbin an opportunity with the world title
In Wrestlemania 35 in 2019, Baron Corbin retired to Kurt Angle. The Olympic gold medalist was among the few players outstanding in the game during the age of the attitude, the most successful moment for the business until the current boom in the industry.
Naturally, Angle felt that WWE not only dropped the ball with former Money In the Bank winner but also wasted his retirement fight, which was destined to elevate a new talent. He added that Baron Corbin was a world championship material “first level.”
