WWE SmackDown could have only a handful of episodes of three hours remaining before it is a two -hour program again.

Smackdown changed to its current three -hour format in the USA Network in early 2025, but Paul “Triple H” mild said that the change was only temporary and that it would return to two hours in the coming months. Although there has not been an official announcement, it is expected that June is the time when SmackDown will once again be a two -hour program.

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the situation in the new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletterwriting that the date for change is not definitively set, but it will be ended soon:

There have been rumors that SmackDown will return to 6/6 at two hours, but that is not a fixed date. The change was expected to occur at the end of May. Company sources say that the date is not recorded in stone, but they expected it to end this week.

After broadcasting in Fox since 2019, SmackDown returned to the USA Network last September in a new five -year television agreement between WWE and NBC Universal. USA Network recovered SmackDown, but lost Raw at the hands of Netflix and Nxt to The CW, since WWE secured new media rights agreements.
