After a great victory in Saturday Night's Main Event, one of the main superstars of the WWE said it was better than most of his teammates. Gunther retained the World Heavyweight Championship after beating Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a triple threat.
The ring general had a trusted crisis before the event, but was victorious after a hard fight. Balor and Priest had their moments before Gunther took control towards the end. He applied a PowerBomb to Priest on the steel stairs and then a dropick followed by another Powerbomb to beat Balor and ensure victory.
Talking to Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg behind the scenes, Gunther was consulted about his victory and how he had strengthened his trust. The world heavyweight champion was so satisfied with his triumph that a star superior to many of his classmates in the WWE was proclaimed.
“Many of my colleagues have their heads elsewhere. They are not focused on the things that matter, in the real objective, the championship. They should not be involved emotions, feelings or personal rivalries. That is why I am superior to many, because my mind is cold and focuses on one thing,” said Gunther.
It will be interesting to see what follows for Gunther, considering that he won Finn Balor and not Damian Priest. However, the ring general already has a victory over Priest in his rematch in Survivor Series: Wargames.
With the transfer of WWE RAW to Netflix, it would not be surprising if Gunther has a new challenger in the first 2025 show.
The possible WWE plan for Gunther
According to Dr. Chris Featherstone, WWE plans to face Gunther and CM Punk in a steel cage fight as part of the next tour. One of the places of the tour is Chicago, where it is punk.
Featherstone clarified that this could or may not lead to a rivalry to start 2025, but urged fans to wait for RAW's debut in Netflix. There will be more clarity once the transfer is official and the punk plans are defined.
Punk's goal is to be the stellar event of Wrestlemania 41, so he needs a great rivalry to be considered for that position next year.
