Cody Rhodes has been absent since his defeat against John Cena at WWE Wrestlemania 41. Luchar Lucha Stevie Richards veteran recently said that the Stamford -based company needed to get the American Nightmare from television for a significant reason.
For almost two years, Rhodes has appeared on television almost every week and has fought in most live premium events. Last week, The American Nightmare defended WWE's undisputed championship against John Cena in Wrestlemania 41. However, he failed to retain the title. Since then, the 39 -year -old fighter has been absent in Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. It was also not announced for tonight episode of the red brand.
Speaking in his The Stevie Richards Showthe veteran said that getting Rhodes out of television after Wrestlemania was a right decision. He pointed out that the company needed to make that movement before fans demanded it:
“I think that fans will begin to miss him and that is exactly what you want as Babyface. As I said in the last episode during the special on dinner and other people, King when he was injured, there is something like fighting too much before something like WrestleMania, and there is something about not fighting enough. So, right now, Cody has been very prominent for a year, perhaps two years, telling the persecution. That he leaves a little before fans tell him to leave. (From 03:13 to 03:50)
WWE analyst also thinks that Cody Rhodes shouldn't return soon
In his podcast Notsam WrestlingWWE analyst Sam Roberts discussed the defeat of Cody Rhodes in Wrestlemania and his future after losing the championship. He expressed his desire to see The American Nightmare absent for a while before returning “triumphally.”
The 41 -year -old analyst also said that Rhodes would have to reconquer fans after being booed in The Show of Shows:
“So what happens to Cody? I don't know. I wouldn't mind seeing Cody Rhods absent for a time to return triumphantly. Cody could be back in SmackDown on Friday. You know, I think his first return promo will be important. His first return story will be important. Cody has to reconquer everyone, you know,” he said.
Freddie Prinze Jr. recently predicted that Rhodes will recapture the undisputed title of WWE of dinner at Summerslam. It will be interesting to see if that happens.
