It’s another step closer to reclaiming the Liga Portugal crown for Jakub Kiwior and Porto, as his side secured another league win and clean sheet on Sunday with a 2-0 success at home to Tondela.

They now lead the Portuguese top flight by seven points to Benfica, who remarkably sit second despite having yet to lose in the league all season. Jakub played the first half of Sunday’s contest, after playing the second period away at Nottingham Forest on Thursday as the Premier League side edged out the Dragaos in the Europa League quarter-finals, setting up a tie with Aston Villa.

Over in Germany, Fabio Vieira and Hamburg are not entirely out of the Bundesliga relegation picture just yet, after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to a Werder Bremen side who have now drawn level with HSV, five points above the relegation play-off with four games to go. As has commonly been the case this term, Fabio played the full match as his team now focus on establishing their top-flight status for next season.

Ethan Nwaneri was a second-half substitute for Marseille at Lorient on Saturday, with his team trailing 2-0 shortly after the break. Ethan played the final 32 minutes but OM fell to a defeat as the scoreline remained the same, dropping them to sixth in the Ligue 1 table and in danger of missing out on Champions League football.

In the Premier League, Brentford and Fulham kicked off the weekend’s action with a 0-0 west London derby draw at the Gtech Stadium. Reiss Nelson was among the Bees’ substitutes for the stalemate, which now makes it five consecutive league draws and keeps them seventh in the table amid their European hunt.

The survival battle in League Two is now rearing its head with two clubs set to drop out of the EFL, and Crawley Town are in stark danger. Louie Copley came up against fellow Gunners loanee Ismeal Cabia on Saturday when Crawley faced Shrewsbury Town, and both youngsters played the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw. Shrewsbury consequently sit 19th just a place above Crawley, albeit with a 10-point gap separating the duo. Crawley maintain a two-point gap to the relegation zone, with just two to play.

Charles Sagoe Jr and his Kalmar side remain in the hunt for their first points of the new Allsvenskan season, suffering a third defeat – this time unluckily at the hands of AIK, who beat them 1-0 on Sunday. Charles played the whole match as he led the line for the visitors in Stockholm.

In the Danish Second Division, Brabrand – featuring our young goalkeeper Lucas Nygaard this season – secured a third-straight clean sheet and a second successive win on Saturday, overcoming Ishoj 1-0 with a late winner. It was also a positive day for Will Sweetas he played the whole game for Dagenham & Redbridge and kept a clean sheet in their final home outing of the National League South season. Following a 0-0 draw with Weston-super-Mare, Andy Carroll’s side end their campaign at Slough next Saturday.

The women’s international break remains ongoing until next weekend, which means none of our loan stars were in action with their clubs. However, several represented their nations, with Rosa Kafaji playing half of a 1-0 win for Sweden against Serbia.

Three of our loaned-out Gunners were involved in the same England Under-23 squad which won 3-0 against the Swedes on Friday. Laila Harbert was introduced just before the hour mark while Jessie Gale came on for the final 19 minutes, and Vivienne Lia remained among the substitutes.

Jenna Nighswonger and Maddy Earl are each soon due to return to action with Aston Villa and Glasgow City respectively.
