Our women’s under-21s team have won the Women’s Professional Games Academy U21 PGA Division One for the second season in a row.
We clinched the title with a 5-0 win at Durham last weekend, John Bitting’s team getting the job done in style. We were 3-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Abi Conway, Bryony Brodie and Mia Dixon, before further goals from Dixon and Conway completed the scoring.
We finished the first phase of the league with seven wins and one draw from eight matches, topping the table.
That form continued into the second phase, as we currently sit top with 10 wins, two draws, two defeats and two games remaining, putting us six points clear of second-placed Manchester United and with a game in hand.
It was a seven-game winning run that sealed the title, and we did it with the youngest squad in the league.
Congratulations to John and his team on an outstanding campaign.
