Ebere Eze and Declan Rice ensured we reached the Champions League quarter-finals for a third year in a row with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
After drawing at the BayArena, two sensational efforts in N5 saw us progress to the last eight.
who will we face in the quarter-finals?
Our result in north London means that we will play Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon in the quarter-finals.
After finishing sixth in the league phase of the competition, Sporting were drawn against Bodo/Glimt in the round of 16 after the Norwegian side knocked out last season’s finalists, Inter Milan.
Bodo were in dreamland after the first leg last week as they prevailed 3-0 in the Arctic Circle.
But the Portuguese side roared back in the second leg, scoring three times to force the match into extra time. Two more goals followed as Sporting completed a miraculous comeback to set up a clash with us in the quarter-finals and a reunion with former striker Viktor Gyokeres.
when will the quarter-final matches take place?
Following our Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, there will be a fortnight break for international fixtures before the league football resumes in April.
The first leg will take place in the Portuguese capital on April 7 or 8, with the return clash taking place in north London the following week on either April 14 or 15.
Details will follow in due course.
