Mikel Arteta has given an update on Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Martin hasn’t featured since our draw with Brentford last month, with Jurrien going off in our 2-0 win against Everton.

With the match taking place on Sunday, Mikel said a further training session will help assess whether the pair will be available.

He said: “We have another training session (on Saturday), so the ones that are in contention hopefully can give us good news.

“We have another session, so let’s see if they can make it.”

Mikel will have a 20-man squad for Sunday’s showdown, but was quick to praise his whole team for helping us get this far.

He said: “Everybody has been involved in the competition, and on the last day when you have the option to be at Wembley, not to give the opportunity for someone to be there, it’s difficult. So, yes, it’s something to think about.

“All the preparation and all the enjoyment in the next 48 hours to get to Wembley in the best possible way, really prepared and confident that we’re going to make it happen.”
