RIVAL REVIEW
Spurs sit fifth in the WSL ahead of the weekend with 29 points from 18 matches, six points behind us having played two games more. They’re comfortably in that position, nine points clear of sixth-placed Everton.
Our local rivals have lost their last two league games though – 5-2 away to Manchester City and 2-1 at home to Everton. This season’s other north London derby – at Brisbane Road in November – was a 0-0 draw.
Martin Ho’s side began the 2025/26 campaign well, winning five of the first seven league matches, but have since failed to win consecutive WSL games, while we’re hunting our 11th victory in a row in all competitions.
Spurs knocked Leicester City out of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup before beating London City Lionesses on penalties to setup a quarter-final clash away to Chelsea in April.
In the Subway Women’s League Cup, they finished top of their group with wins over Bristol City, Birmingham City and Aston Villa, before being eliminated at the quarter-final stage by Manchester United.
WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY
Slegers: “We look forward to it. We’ve been talking to the players about connecting with the crowd and starting in the warm-up because they’re going to help us in the game.
“We want to bring something to them, so that connection is really important for us. The earlier people can be at the stadium, the better, so we can share this occasion and make the very, very best out of this tomorrow.”- Read every word of Renée’s pre-Spurs press conference.

To: “It’s going to be difficult. I’m under no illusions; we’re not going to be able to just turn up and think we’re going to have it our way. It’s going to be difficult, they’re ten unbeaten in all competitions, they’re full of confidence, full of belief, they’ve got goals coming from every part of the pitch, so I have no doubt that they’re going to be right at it.
“It’s at their home ground and we’re going to have to at times suffer without the ball and be prepared to do that, but when we have the ball we’re going to have to express ourselves really well and make sure that when we go there we apply ourselves and we don’t take the occasion in, we just play the game.”
TEAM NEWS
Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord are both available after returning from the AFC Asian Women’s Cup with Australia, but Kyra Cooney-Cross has stayed overseas to spend time with her family and won’t be with us for the rest of the season.
Leah Williamson is also not in contention for this fixture.
For Tottenham, Toko Koga and Maika Hamano are back available after their Asian Cup success with Japan.
A late decision will be made on the fitness of Ella Morris, who has been out for nearly 10 months with an ACL injury. Clare Hunt misses out as she is set to have surgery on her right knee, while Jess Naz, Maite Oroz and Luana Buhler remain long-term absentees.
FACTS AND STATS
We have won nine of our 12 WSL games against Tottenham (D2 L1), scoring 33 goals in north London derbies while conceding just four times.
Tottenham’s only win against us in the WSL came at home in December 2023 (1-0), but they haven’t scored in four league games against us since, their worst ever goalless run in the WSL against one side.
We have conceded only seven goals from open play in the WSL this season, only ever conceding fewer 16 matches into a campaign in 2021/22 (6). We have kept a clean sheet in each of our five league games in 2026, last having a longer streak between March and October 2022 (10 in a row).
We are averaging the most points per game in the WSL in 2026, winning four of five games (2.6 – D1); only in 2017 (first 9), 2015 (first 6) and 2012 (all 14) have we had a better unbeaten start to a calendar year.
We are unbeaten in each of our last 66 WSL home games when scoring first (W62 D4), since a 2-1 loss to Liverpool in July 2016; no other team has ever had a run of 50+ games in the competition.
On MD17 against West Ham United, Smilla Holmberg (19y 161d) became the youngest player in WSL history to assist two goals in a game for us and only the second player in the competition’s history to assist twice on their first start after Karen Carney in April 2011.
Since her first appearance back at Arsenal in February last year, only Khadija Shaw (70 minutes) has a better goal involvement rate in the WSL than Chloe Kelly (73 – 7 goals, 5 assists – min. 150 mins) – on MD18 against West Ham, she netted our first WSL hat-trick since October 2020 (Vivianne Miedema vs Tottenham).
