Ben White netted his first England goal on his first appearance for the Three Lions since 2022 as Thomas Tuchel’s side drew 1-1 with Uruguay.

Our defender came on as a second half substitute and prodded home from close range with nine minutes to play.

Uruguay managed to equalise late on through a Fede Valverde penalty at Wembley.

Noni Madueke started the contest but was forced off after 38 minutes. Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice did not feature after being given an extended break by the Three Lions head coach.

England take on Japan in their second friendly of the break as preparations build for the World Cup this summer.

KAI RETURNS IN GERMANY THRILLER

There was another comeback over in Basel where Kai Havertz was making his first Germany appearance since 2024.

Kai started up top for Julian Nagelsmann’s side in their thrilling 4-3 victory over Switzerland.

Our forward had three shots during his 62 minutes of action before being replaced by Newcastle United’s Nick Woltemade.

Florian Wirtz netted twice with Jonathan Tah and former Gunner Serge Gnabry also on target for the Germans. Kai and Germany take on Ghana in their second friendly of the break.

MOSQUERA DEBUT

There was more good news over in Spain, where Cristhian Mosquera was making his full international debut.

The young centre-back came on for Pau Cubarsi in the 83rd minute at the Estadio de la Ceramica, in Villarreal as La Roja swept to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Cristhian joined Martin Zubimendi on the pitch. Our midfielder entered the fray on 77 minutes, replacing Rodri. David Raya was an unused substitute in the contest.

Spain round off their international fixtures in March with a clash against Egypt in Barcelona.

DRAW FOR PIERO

Piero Hincapie was also playing in Spain as his Ecuador side took on Morocco in Madrid.

Our defender started the contest and played 72 minutes as Ecuador took the lead through John Yeboah on 48 minutes.

But Ecuador were pegged back late on 88 minutes through Neil El Aynaoui.

Piero and Ecuador now head to Eindhoven to face the Netherlands on March 31 ahead of preparing for the World Cup in June.

Lastly, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri started for England under-21s in their 1-1 draw with Andorra. Gerard Sola Garcia gave Andorra a shock lead before Rico Lewis saved the Young Lions with a late penalty to claim a point for Lee Carsley’s side.
