outclassed by Arsenal, Monaco will have to wait to validate their qualification

The Monegasques suffered a second defeat in a row in the competition, two weeks after the home defeat against Benfica.

Monaco will never have been able to compete. The Rocher club was logically dominated by a very solid Arsenal team (3-0), Wednesday December 11, during the 6th day of the league phase of the Champions League. Reduced to silence, Adi Hütter’s players only existed for a few minutes at the start of the second half, without ever really threatening. Insufficient to imitate Brest and Lille, who validated their qualification at least for the play-offs.

Opposite, Arsenal maintained its reputation as a particularly well-organized team. Patient in the build-up, she logically converted her domination from the first period. Now 16th, ASM remains stuck at 10 points. Its qualification for the play-offs is still on track, but the Top 8 is moving away. Their next European meeting is set for January 21, against another well-placed English club, Aston Villa (5th).
