Piero Hincapie has been voted by our supporters as our men’s Player of the Month for February.
The Ecuadorian received a season-high 65% of the vote, beating competition from Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to win the award for the first time as a Gunner.
Piero started the month off with two formidable defensive displays, starting our 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-finals and coming off the bench to help us secure a 3-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League.
After returning to the starting XI for our 1-1 draw with Brentford, Piero was rested for the 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, before coming back into the side to score his first Arsenal goal in our 2-2 draw with Wolves at Molineux.
Our no.5 then helped us get back to winning ways a few days later as we hammered Tottenham 4-1 to complete a north London derby double over our rivals.
Piero’s success in last month’s vote continues the pattern of different players winning the award every month this season, with Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel, Eberechi Eze, Leandro Trossard and Viktor Gyokeres each taking the honours once so far this campaign.
