Four Gunners have been named in the latest England squad for two matches in this international break, with Ben White replacing Ebere Eze following the latter’s injury.

Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Eze were all included in Thomas Tuchel’s initial 35-man squad last week, with the Three Lions hosting Uruguay and Japan at the end of this month.

However after injury ruled Ebere out of the Carabao Cup final, he has been replaced by Ben, who is named in a squad for the first time since the 2022 World Cup. He has previously won four caps for his country, with the last coming against the Ivory Coast in March 2022.

With qualification for this summer’s World Cup secured, England now begin preparations with two warm-up friendlies at Wembley. Uruguay are the first visitors on Friday, March 27 (7:45pm), before Japan make the trip to face Tuchel’s side under the arch on Tuesday, March 31 (7:45pm).

Having sealed their place at this year’s tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico with wins from all eight of their qualifying fixtures, England will next be in action in June following these two warm-up matches, while nations elsewhere battle it out to be on the plane this summer.

Rice currently has the most caps from all the Gunners in the squad, having scored six goals in 72 senior England appearances. Saka is edging towards a milestone 50th cap, currently stood on 48 having also netted 14 international goals. Madueke will be looking to reach double figures this week, having made nine appearances, scoring once.

Uruguay and Japan have also booked their places for the tournament in North America, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side also facing Algeria as part of their warm-up schedule next week and Hajime Moriyasu’s squad also meeting Scotland at Hampden Park.
