Raw's superstar, Gunther, is scheduled to face Pat McAfee in WWE Backlash. An analyst at Stamford's headquarters recently suggested that The General Ring could fight a massive legend after his fight with the red -branded commentator.

Last Monday at RAW, Nick Aldis officially announced Gunther's fight against McAfee in Backlash after the latter demanded that SmackDown's general manager raise the suspension of The General Ring and allow them to fight. While addressing the theme in his podcast Cheap Heatanalyst Peter Rosenberg said that former world heavyweight champion must destroy McAFEE in the next live premium event, forcing him to go out in an ambulance.

Former 24/7 champion also suggested that Goldberg could become Gunther's next opponent when he returned to the ring after three years. Both hinted to face last year in their verbal altercation in Bad Blood. Meanwhile, the member of the Hall of Fame has announced that he will have his retirement fight in WWE this year. Rosenberg proposed that, although many would expect the former universal champion to apply a Spear to The General Ring to obtain the victory, the latter might surprisingly defeat the legend that returns in the center of the ring to finish his career with a defeat. He pointed out that such victory would also elevate the 37 -year -old fighter:

“Then, you bring back to Goldberg. I feel that everyone will enter waiting for a Spear, that Goldberg wins as always. And if Gunther simply defeats Goldberg and ends his career in the center of the ring, that is a fairly effective measure for Gunther,” he said. (30:38 – 30:56)

A wrestling veteran thinks WWE should not program Goldberg to defeat Gunther

In an episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantellwrestling veteran discussed the possible confrontation between Gunther and Goldberg. Mantell said WWE cannot schedule the member of the Hall of Fame to overcome the former heavyweight champion.

Dutch Manter pointed out that the Stamford -based company has invested so much in The General Ring. Therefore, there was no reason to waste that investment making him lose against Goldberg.

“We have 10 years with Gunther, 10 years. That is our researcher. Why would we put a guy who has perhaps twice his age, and yes, it is a physical specimen, but why we would put it there and let him defeat our researcher? I would not do it. And if you disqualify it, that leaves a bad taste in the mouth in the people,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if Gunther turns out to be really Goldberg's opponent in his retirement fight in WWE.
