The WWE star, John Cena, stands firm after facing criticism for his recent comments on Vince McMahon.

During a new interview with Us Weekly, Cena approached the criticisms he received after declaring that “unconditionally love” McMahon despite the legal problems facing WWE.

“Everyone has the right to their opinion. Just as I have the right to have an emotional connection with someone,” said Cena. “I do not judge anyone for how he feels or what he considers permissible, or what makes them angry, cheer up, excite or saddened. That is their right as human beings. I am not surprised by any of this.”

Dinner's comments arrive after Janel Grant, former WWE, filed a federal lawsuit against McMahon, WWE and John Laurinitis in a Connecticut court, accusing them of sexual assault and sexual trafficking. The accusations include claims that McMahon used his influence to coerce Grant to sexual encounters and facilitated encounters with other powerful figures.

Talking to The New York Times before Wrestlemania 41, Cena had initially declared that “unconditionally love” Vince McMahon despite the accusations, a comment that generated a wide negative reaction of fans and the wrestling community.

“I don't care who listens to him: I love Vince,” Cena said in the interview. “I am not minimizing anything that should be decided or the accusations of any kind, but when I love someone, I love him unconditionally. I know that people will get angry about that, but they cannot impose their value in my relationship with someone I love.”

The negative reaction led Us Weekly to ask Cena to clarify his position, which led to his latest comments on the public's reaction. Dinner made it clear that, although he understands anger, he has the right to his personal feelings towards McMahon regardless of accusations.

All this happens while WWE continues to face negative press related to the demand of Janel Grant, with Roman Reigns previously opinion in a separate interview. Reigns described the situation as “shameful” and expressed his hope that Grant now feels “safe and protected” after making his accusations public.
